Add repository to project from command line

I'd like to script new project creation, git repository creation, and adding the git repository to the project. Using the REST API, I can accomplish the first task. Creating the appropriate git repositories for redmine is also straightforward. The last step, though, does not seem possible except through the web interface? Are there any suggestions as to how to go about this?

I am very interested in this also. It was easy to do in Trac, I had written a script that would take care of it on new repository creation. (One "project" but many websites under it)
