attempt to edit issue subject files becaue "Start invalid"

Added by Randall Parr over 14 years ago

Trying to get rolling using Redmine. I was running Redmine 0.9.x and am now running 1.0.0 RC stable on Ubuntu 10.04.

When I edit the Subject of an existing issue and try to save, I get an error "Start invalid".

The start and due date are 2010-07-28 and I am trying to save after that date BUT I am not trying to change those dates.

The issue (task) has subtasks (sub-issues).

The issue also has related issues; one follows and several precedes.

When I got this error on another issue I cleared the start date and it then let me save.

On this issue, however, the start and due dates are not editable.

1) How do I get around this.

2) If I can not edit the start and due date because these are calculated, just what are those calculations based on?

2) Is there a way to clear or reset start and due dates? I entered a lot of issues/tasks getting the project set up which all wound up with the entry date as the start date; now that this project is actually ready to go I need to clear the dates or reset them to the actual project start date

Thanks

I have the same issue and a similar task structure. The strategy of removing the date works fine for bottom level issues, but for parent issues, the dates are not editable.
I am unable to update a parent issue without removing all of the start dates in all sub-issues. I sometimes revert to SQL for bulk changes.
Is there a better way?
