Wiki link to use title instead of page name

Added by Noel Abrahams over 11 years ago

Hi,

We create wiki links as follows:

 [[HowToConfigureRemoteDesktop|How To Configure Remote Desktop]]
.

This creates a wiki link to page "HowToConfigureRemoteDesktop" and displays the link text as "How To Configure Remote Desktop"

Soon after creation the link is displayed in red, because the page does not exist. When the link is clicked, Redmine creates a page with the following default text:

"h1. HowToConfigureRemoteDesktop"

My first request is that the default text should instead be "h1. How To Configure Remote Desktop".

A second, related issue is to do with the child_pages macro. Again this macro lists the page instead of the title, so that we have

  • HowToConfigureRemoteDesktop
  • HowToSetUpApacheHadoop

Instead of

  • How To Configure Remote Desktop
  • How To Set Up Apache Hadoop

I understand that this feature is probably difficult to implement, because the page title would need to be stored.

But it will be a very useful addition.

I also understand that you can have spaces in your page and Redmine replaces them with underscores; but you soon run into difficulties with special characters such as "&".

Thanks.
Noel

BTW we really appreciate all the work that has gone into this application - it's proven to be quite indispensable to our company.
