gem mysql2 V.S. MySQL community server

Hi there,

Is anyone know the difference about gem mysql2 and MySQL community server(installer MSI) ?

If i had MySQL community server installed, do I still need to gem mysql2 for remedy ?

If [Yes], should I replace libmysql.dll in the Ruby's bin folder ?
