Redmine

Has anyone tested running Redmine as a Rails Engine, and if so, could you give me some pointers on how to set this up? I have a few installations now with conflicting customizations, and including Redmine as a gem and running it as an engine would make it much easier to maintain.

I searched the web for this as well as this site but was unable to find anything relevant to this topic.
