Redmine Performance with more than 100.000 Issues

Added by Julian Red over 9 years ago

Hi all,
my department wants to roll out Redmine as issue management system. We want to implement workflows for our complex projects.

Key facts for our current plans:
  • 10 different trackers (max. 10 status messages for one tracker)
  • 50 custom fields (max. 15 per for one tracker)
  • Appx. > 20.000 issues per year.
  • Appx. 300 employees have to work with the system
  • Uploading e-mails and documents to issues would be also fine

Is this huge amount of issues possible with Redmine? The performance is very important for us.
We are able to set up a very good hardware.
It would be great to get feedback from experienced Redmine admins. :-)

An alternative to Redmine is SharePoint, but the implementation seems to be easier in Redmine.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
Julian

I can't say for sure, but IIRC, it highly depends on the number of custom fields per tracker.

Check the search function to see posts containing performance ;-)

Also, costs would probably skyrocket when using SharePoint...

Hi Jan,
thanks for your answer and sorry for the late reply from me (vacations).

I have also heard that it depends on the number of custom fields. The question is how much custom fields are OK to achieve a good performance?

Regards,
Julian
