Hello,
Everything is specific to your distro/install and there is a quite detailed wiki about it but the headlines are:- Backup!
- Update Ruby to the latest compatible (2.4 for latest release of the 3.4.x branch)
I find that RVM is a really useful tool to get the Ruby version you need unrelated to what your distro offers - Update your Redmine files, if you are not yet using svn to do so, it's probably a good occasion to do so.
- Install gem dependencies:
bundle install --without development test
- Update your database:
RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake db:migrate
- Test it runs:
bundle exec rails s -e production
- If you are using Passenger, Puma, Unicorn... That's the moment to update too
If your environment seems complex, outdated and difficult to upgrade, you may consider just making a new install on a new system and migrate the data.
Cheers,
