Target version change on a parent, cascades to its child issues

I need changes to the Target Version (i.e. a slip to the next version) of Parent Issues to apply to the Child issues underneath that Parent. I need the Children to shift with the Parents. Currently, when the Parent issue is shifted to a different Target Version, the Target Version for all of the children does not/do not change automatically. It is a manual process. Can this be automated?
