Redmine

I am new to this platform, i want a brief explanation.

Actually, i have two issues in my Redmine..
1. If i checkout my file from repository and again alter it and check-in(commit) the file in
my repository, the author name is the same.. The concern person who has made the alteration
name have to be displayed.. I have attached a jpg file. Kindly check the author field in that..
The problem is i get the same author name for the entire project else the author field is left blank

2. I wil explain the steps which i hv already done for installation and integration of SVN with ruby..

a. Installation of Redmine from BitNami Stack
b. Integration of Redmine with SVN
c. Created Repository using ruby command via shell
d. Imported project manually via shell
e. Committed the working copy via shell
f. After doing the above steps, i am unable to see the author displayed in redmine (author field)

Pl tell me whether there is any mistakes in the above steps which i have did..
