Trouble connecting to existing CVS server from 0.9.3 install

I have installed Redmine 0.9.3. I can not get the repository functionality working with our existing CVS server. I know I'm missing a setup as I have not configured the :pserver string anywhere, and without that it can't connect to CVS. Is there a how-to detailing the configuration needed to use CVS with redmine? I am new to redmine and have minimal experience with ruby.
