How to make "assign to" a required field?

Hi.

I just want to know how to force issues to be assigned to someone.

When I add a new issue (task) the "Assign to" dropdown has an empty option selected by default. So If I forget to assign the task to someone the form doesn't warn me about that.

How can I fix this?

You can use "Default assignee" feature for each category or whole project. Somewhere in Project Settings :).

Could you be a little more precise. You wrote it three years ago. Is this still working today?
