An error occurred while sending mail (502 5.5.2 Error: command not recognized )

I am struggling with this error while testing email notification on a fresh redmine install via Ubuntu packages:

Anyone with the idea on how to go about it

If you will not use a local sendmail (or something else on your localhost without authentification), you need to configure it within your config/configuration.yml
There is a part for sending emails..

is it configuration.yml or email.yml

i have /etc/redmine/default/email.yml configured as follows
