Adding Images.... What Directory?
Added by Matthew Metcalfe over 13 years ago
OK, this is a REAL newbie question probably but hey, I don't know!
I would like to add an image to the home page. Under Settings you can embed with :: like :IMG: but where does the page look for the image? Is there a default directory for Images?
If I want to embed an image in a project Wiki, is there a default directory for those images? We are capable of attaching images, but not putting them inline.
We're using the Bitnami Stack on Windows if that helps answer!
Thanks a lot!

If you simply put your image to C:\BitNami Redmine Stack\apache2\htdocs\picture.gif
, you can use it with !http://servername/redmine/picture.gif!
But of course you don't want to give all users access to your root directory of Apache2, so you will have to consider a solution like a directory "public_images" (which is shared for all users - so that they are able to upload their pictures). This could be linked to C:\BitNami Redmine Stack\apache2\htdocs\images\
- now all your users know how to find them within Redmine.
