I decided to upgrade to 1.4.x and not to 2.0.x because on 2.0.x I couldn't find all plugins (or forks) that I wanted. But I hope that this will change with time and until now upgrades always worked fine for me.

Besides some missing plugins 2.0.x worked fine for me, though...

I currently run 1.4, but only because 2.x hasn't shown any major updates yet that I really care about (I'm still looking at individual project workflows and configs... ;)).

We'll upgrade to 2.x whenever that changes.
