Upgrading current version and Windows Vs Linux

Added by Mark Young almost 12 years ago

Hi, I have Redmine 1.0.4 running on a Windows Server 2008 machine using Apache. I would like to upgrade to later versions of Redmine and would like to continue doing so in the future as the software suits my small team of developers very well.

When installing Redmine initially I followed a tutorial specifically for Windows and downloaded the version recommended to me in the tutorial. Now though I want to upgrade my Redmine on my Windows Server and I have no idea how to do that as my knowledge of the internal workings of Redmine and Ruby is practically none existent.

I would sooner stay with Windows as I have other applications that run on it and for backup its far easier, but if needed I can switch to Linux. I'd be interested what the Redmine community would recommend, Linux or Windows for Redmine hosting?

I look forward to your responses.

I like Linux better, but that's just my personal opinion and I don't have experience using redmine on windows.
I'd say, use the system you know best.
