Does redmine 1.2 mysql database work with redmine 2.2?

I broke my redmine 1.2 and i cant figure out how to fix it but i still have the database, would the database work if i make a fresh install of the latest version?

That's a huge leap, backup the DB and give it a try: RedmineUpgrade
