Debain upgrade from etch to wheezy broke it....

Added by Pat McClanahan almost 11 years ago

Hi - I am attempting to help some folks out, I am not very familiar with Redmine, so am at a bit of a disadvantage. I am totally familiar with Debian.

These guys had a disk crash, so they built a new server with containers and it is having issues authenticating Mercurial "push" commands. The dead container, which was authenticating fine, was running Debian Etch, the new container is running Debian Wheezy.

System info:
Debian 7.0 \n \l
Redmine v1.0.2 (this is a bit old)
ruby 1.8.7
Rails 2.3.11

I did see some stuff about Debian not using SHA1 anymore, so changed the Redmine.pm file to SHA. But it still fails.

The proecess goes like this:
hg push
pushing to http://myserver.com
searching for changes
http authorization required
realm: (shows proper realm)
user: (I enter valide login)
password: (yes - checked login/passwd)
abort: authorization failed

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
pat

hi..

you could try my new method ...

possible drawbacks:
  • Redmine and the rrd-script needs to run on the same server as your apache-repository-server
  • it's only tested with redmine 2.3 and ruby 1.9.3 - but it should work with 1.0 and older ruby
