automatically set assignee to the person who changed the status

Is it possible to automatically change the assignee when another person changes the status of an Issue?

If a new Ticket comes in and I change the status, I want it to automatically be assigned to my name.

The same for Issues which are assigned to somebody else, if I change the status I want it to be assigned to my name.

Right now I have to do both manually, change the status and assign it to my name.

To my knowledge, at the moment you can do automatic assignment only with Categories.
I think you need to develop a plugin to solve your problem.
