Creating a project?
Added by Alan Moffat almost 11 years ago
Hi,
This may seem like a really silly question but I've created an account of Redmine, but I can't see anyway to create a project so I can use it to test the different functionality on offer.
I was wondering do I have to actually download it, to get access to this or am I just missing something.
Cheers,

Hello Alan,
Yes, indeed, you cannot use redmine.org to create and manage projects, redmine.org is the Redmine instance dedicated to the development of Redmine. You have several options to have a test environment:- Make a new install from scratch: http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineInstall
- Download a turnkey VM: http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineInstall#Alternative-to-manual-installation
- Rent a pre-installed VPS, I know of Bitnami and Digital Ocean offering this
To mention it, some companies offer hosted Redmine instances.
I think the VMs are great for testing.
Cheers,
