redmine.repositories & redmine.auth_sources password hashes

is it possible to hash the passwords in redmine.repositories and redmine.auth_sources? I couldn't find anything relevant using search.

Environment details are:
Redmine version 2.5.1.stable
Ruby version 1.9.3-p125 (2012-02-16) [i386-mingw32]
Rails version 3.2.17
Environment production
Database adapter Mysql2

Is it worth raising this as an issue - is this a known problem?
