Cannot change issue status

Added by Ivan Pozdeev almost 10 years ago

I'm a tester and would like to close or reopen an issue after a developer marks it as "Resolved".

Yet, even if I give myself full permissions for the project (save for the "administrator" flag), I can change everything except the status! What am I missing?

The version is Bitnami Redmine Stack 2.6.0-1 (Redmine 2.6.0, Ruby 2.0.0p481, Rails 4.1.6)

What workflows are defined for the role your user has?

None. Should they? I thought "edit issues" permission should allow to edit indiscriminately.

I thought "edit issues" permission should allow to edit indiscriminately.

That's only a piece of the puzzle: Think of it like this:
"Edit issues" permits the user to open the issue in edit mode, while the workflow defines the status transitions the user can use.

What you describe happens exactly when a workflow defines a status as a "final" status, i.e. when a role can not change the status into anything else.

Well, thanks, that worked. I had no idea the permissions at the Roles and Permissions page were not all the "permissions".

Glad it worked. Note that besides the workflow you also have field permissions (see this screenshot: #8050#note-48)

Our current implementation allows users to create and modify any information in their issues if the issue state is "New". How can we configure the user role to let her modify only the state of a "New" issue and no other attribute? (That would be the same behavior that Redmine has at its site).
Is that possible in our current environment? We are using: Redmine version-4.2.4.stable + Additionals-3.0.3
