Patching a .rbfile help

I modified some files to correct a bug with the mail handler (mail_handler.rb file) according to this patch :

http://www.redmine.org/issues/16190

After this, do I have to run a rake command? If so, which command exactly?

Hello,
According to the issue, that patch was merged into trunk 4 years ago so it should not be required to apply this patch unless you didn't update Redmine for 4 years.
What problem are you trying to solve?
