Project list sorting alphabetic sorting A to Z starts over after the first 150 projects

We are running redmine 3.4.3 stable and have a lot of projects, around 200.
The strange thing that suddenly ocurred is that after about 150 projects, which are alphabetically sorted, the sorting starts over for newly created or renamed projects.
This looks like a second group of alphabetically sorted projects that is put below the first. So at the bottom I get project Z and then I get the newly created project AA.
Both in the menu as in the "all projects" view this happens.
So I get like
ProjectA
ProjectB
...
ProjectZ
ProjectAA
ProjectBB
ProjectZZ
and not
ProjectA
ProjectAA
ProjectB
ProjectBB
...
ProjectZ
ProjectZZ
And also when an old project was previously sorted as it should and I change the projectname it drops down all the way to the second row of projects, that are sorted as a second group below the first group of projects.
Maybe a bit hard to explain but I hope you understand what happens...even better, if someone has a solution for this.
