vendor/rails in source download

I was about to install 0.8.4 downloaded from rubyforge and noticed that there is a vendor/rails directory in the source. Is that now required, or can I delete it and continue to use the system wide install of rails?

Why is rails now in the source download?

Yes, you can delete vendor/rails if you have the Rails 2.1.2 gem installed and Redmine will work fine.
