Redmine + Apache + FastCGI on Windows

Hello,
I've successfully set up Redmine on Windows XP Pro (SP3) with Apache and mod_cgi, following the instructions on this HOWTO.
It's working fine, but as warned, it's terribly slow !
Trying now to speed it up by using FastCGI (either mod_fastcgi or mod_fcgid), but can't make it work so far, despite intensive googling and testing in the past hours...
As mentioned in this HOWTO, a working step-by-step guide would be much appreciated.
Could anyone help ?
