Redmine

We jsut started looking into Redmine at work and love the well-rounded features of this ticketing system. We also started using JomSocial and found it to be a nice way of adding creative discussions that may or may not be useful in development. We are wondering if anybody is working on a plug-in to connect the two and if not, do we need to do anything special in order to create our own (i.e., do we need special permissions, framework, etc.)? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
