How to handle Duplicates of issues in "Redmine Importer " plugin
Added by sandeep sp almost 14 years ago
I Downloaded the CSV importer plugin
http://www.martinliu.info/2009/04/redmine_importer-redmine-csv-import-plugin/
i had an query,is there any way we can check for the duplicates of the issues while exporting?
Typical scenario is like : i exported some 2000 issues today and after a week or two i will get an another list of 1000 issues, in the new list so many are duplicates of the issues. How to check this condition ? or is there is a way to check this condition? please help me in this regard.

Hi Sandeep,
Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. If you use my Redmine_importer plugin (available on github at https://github.com/leovitch/redmine_importer), you can use it to update existing issues as long as you have a field you can use to
uniquely identify them. There's a discussion of using unique columns in the manual for the plugin at https://github.com/leovitch/redmine_importer/wiki.
Unfortunately, the plugin doesn't have an "ignore existing issues" option, so it will reset the values of any pre-existing issues. That would be easy to add if it helps people out though.

Thanks Leo,
I was able to update the existing issues with the plugin. But, the feature "ignore existing issues" addition will add more value addition to this plugin.
Thanks for providing this plugin, which has saved my days.
