clear overview boards & topics > replies

Dear all,

I was looking for a plugIn or function in order to have a better overview for our boards. When replying to a topic we are missing a structural overview about the discussions (an option to make subtopics would be nice, and maybe a threaded view).
Or is there a way to set up more than one board?
Is there already anything like that? Maybe I overlooked it...
