time tracking & invoicing
Added by Frantisek Havluj almost 15 years ago
When I saw http://paymo.biz/, I thought - wow, that's great. And since I became pretty addicted to RedMine lately, I thought that it would be nice to also have true time-tracking (not only time-logging) feature in redMine. What do you think, is it worth doing? I thought of some javascript timer plus offline mode with Google Gears. Maybe something is already out there, maybe some of you is working on something similar. I'd love to hear any opinions.

I totally agree with you Frantisek. The redmine time tracking features are not that great. Paymo does a great job, especially their new PaymoPlus tracker.
Perhaps it would be an idea to integrate the two via APIs. It would probably need to be a redmine plugin that submits new tasks to paymo, and also checks to see if jobs are complete. I'm a php developer myself, but I've been thinking about this a long time, so I might need to learn Ruby to get this implemented.

I have used Paymo for a while for tracking my time and project bills, but now I am using Replicon Inc - Project Tracking Software http://www.replicon.com/time-bill for tracking all my projects with respect to time.
