I don't understand what is the purpose of this. Should we then modify every documentation I made when I teached Redmine courses where I worked (for free)?
As far as I know, I received no complaint of any subtasked being referred to "child", but maybe they were abused by their parent task _
If this is political, I suggest to leave this domain of expertise outside of computing. Let's just code and use applications, and above all focus on the subject of developing a project management tool.
