This a plugin allows you to customize the view for the Redmine.

Features

By adding JavaScript or CSS to the matched path, a screen is made customizable.

Usage

  1. After you install the Plugin, "View customize" the administrator menu is added.

  2. Add a new setting.
  3. Path pattern is specified with a regular expression. (ex. /issues/[0-9]+) If there is a match with the path of the page, the code(JavaScript/StyleSheet) is executed.
  4. Input code.

  5. Matches the path, StyleSheet or JavaScrpt is embedded, the screen display is changed.

The plugin is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.

Installation notes

cd {RAILS_ROOT}/plugins
git clone https://github.com/onozaty/redmine-view-customize.git view_customize
cd ../
rake redmine:plugins:migrate

note: The directory name must be a view_customize. Directory name is different, it will fail to run the Plugin.

I use it to add small features without changing the source code.
The path pattern is very useful to be sure that a javascript code only affects some pages.

Very useful and there are many ways to use. For example, improving styles of Wiki or adding some UI elements by jQuery. We can also override JavaScript provided by other plugin which uses global object. Your changes will appear soon without restarting.

It is somewhat difficult to explain, but this is a very effective, useful plugin if you hope to make small customizations for redmine’s default view :)
