Building Source

Ok one of my friends told me about this so I figured id give it a shot. I assume ill need MS VS 2005 installed to compile the source in windows. My question is wheres the solution located, and also is it possible to do a mac build currently?

Also what format does the art have to be in if i want to develope my own artwork?
