Redmine, Ruby Enterprise Edition, Apache and SE Linux on CentOS

Added by Sascha Sanches about 14 years ago

Hello everybody,

I'm in the middle of writing a wiki page about running Redmine with Ruby Enterprise Edition and Apache on CentOS while SE Linux is enabled in targeted mode. It's not finished yet (the Redmine part has to be completed), but I wanted to let you know, anyway.

(Edit: there was a link pointing to my site, but since I stopped hosting Redmine, I removed it. The wiki article can be found here: RedmineAndSELinuxOnCentOS)

The Redmine part has been completed as well. The next thing I probably should do, is explain more what I am doing and why. But not today ;)

Hello again, forum.

I am wondering whether anybody is interested is this topic? Since I've received no replies whatsoever, can I conclude that I should not post about the topic anymore?

Hi Sascha,

I think it's a nice guide for whoever may want to use the described setup. Of course it's totally up to you, but maybe it'd be well placed in redmine.org's wiki in the HowTos section where some similar Installations/Setup Guides are stored and where a person looking for installation howtos could find it most easily?

Thank you. That is a good idea. I'll add it when I after reviewing it again.

This is a interesting howto. I read your wiki on phundamentals.com. Often the advice i found on SE Linux acting up is to disable it, as you noted as well. Your instructions are very useful, so I would encourage you to make it a howto here on the wiki.

(btw I still find it ridiculous that CentOS 5 doesnt ship with Ruby 1.8.7 which is a 2 and half year old stable release)

Thank you both. I edited the article some more, and will add it here right away. It will be easier for users to comment / criticize as well, since my own website is not open for registrations right now.
