Is it possible to connect to a svn repository that is not hosted on the redmine machine?

Yes but you need SVN binaries on the same host, read the manual (Note 1) !

then, I can access an external repository to Redmine, taking on the same host svn (and svn pointing to the external repository). Thank you Ethienne
