If you've customized Redmine, show it off here to show folks how flexible this bad boy is!

Here's a look at ours:

Since the first time I saw your initial screenshots I was sold... That was the theme-base I was going to use to extend and modify to my exact needs, instead of starting with the Basecamp-theme and modify it to look something like yours do now and then starting to make it fit my exact needs (and possibly support a public release of it).
Therefor I needed a stable working base of (what I call) the squeejee-theme which works on the current edge-like versions of Redmine (0.8-stable and trunk). So I started working on that...

Mischa The Evil wrote:

So this would mean the current state of the theme should be updated after r2059. Maybe the earlier fix I've noted could be resolved also. Then we could wrap it up in a single package - including the nessacery directory-structure - (but do we really need all those icons :-S) and make it easier to distribute and install this nice theme.

Along the way I came around several other things I really wanted to change together along with "the possible need of the average redmine-theme user to have it changed in a release":
  • As I said earlier, I don't quite like the progressbar styling and colouring:
    • Low, very personal taste. As a matter of fact they fit the theme itself quite good...
  • Since the theme depends on (and thus inherits from) the Alternate-theme, it has lots of visible borders (issuelist, repo, repo-revisions etc.) instead of the current default theme which omits those borders. The bordered-tables creates a very "blocked and old-style" look:
    • High, the default-style gives Redmine a more modern look and less blocky interface...
  • Some views had links which weren't easy to find due to the used colours (which do look good IMO):
    • High, the links just should be more visible to match the average taste and human-capabilities
  • Like I posted earlier some views were missing some tiny details
  • The theme had some tiny cross-browser compatibility-problems
    • Normal, those fixes are in fact required imo...

At this point I started thinking of packaging a slightly updated version of the theme myself which then could be made public on ThemeSqueejee. Therefor I dicided that I had to make sure that my personal taste wouldn't interfere too much with the actual base of Wynn... That's why the list above has a "need value"...

I'm currently working on a first public release of Wynn's original theme packaged as an independed package myself. I've made that my personal vendor-base for my own development-branch (which contains all changes, see lateron). I've ported it to Redmine 0.8.x and can maintain it over the new versions. It will contain only the changes which I've marked as high or normal in the list in the above paragraph.

Now, all of the above brings me to the following:

Mischa The Evil wrote:

I can create a seperate, dedicated wiki-page for this theme. Can you therefor also provide the following:
  • some basic information (see for example ThemeAlternate)
  • some (4-6) screenshots of the theme (preferred resolution would be 480x360)

I'll soon do these tasks for the theme myself... I'll publish the theme under the name squeejee on the dedicated wiki-page ThemeSqueejee.
Over time I'll first try to remove the dependency on the alternate-theme... Let's say that's scheduled for 0.2.0 :-).

One important note: Let me be sure that I won't publish the Theme as of I am the author. I'll be only the packager of a slightly-updated and fixed version of the original...

Hope this gets appreciated and will lead to more happy users of Redmine...

Greetings,

Mischa.

Hey there, the updated theme currently still isn't published yet. See my previous message... I experienced a bad flu-infection [sic] the intended release-path hasn't been met :(
I think I can have it out properly upcoming weekend week [1] [2] ...

Note: the original (oudated - see above messages -) source of the theme is still available through their GitHub.

1 corrected release date of 0.1.0 to the end of this week.

2 restored initial schedule to get some air...

Just curious, any updates on the repackaged version of Squeejee? Me and my team are dying to get our hands on the updated version since we had a few problems with the current version and Redmine 0.8.x.

Thanks in advance,
James

Give me an hour or so... :-) Seriously, I've had some (major) delay on working with this due to some unexpected workload in professional life.

At the moment it's near completion and I have even finished some work already which was initially scheduled for 0.2.x. Keep your eyes on the Wiki... ;-)

Mischa.

To whom it may concern:

Finally it's done and completed... Took me around 100 commits... The result can be found here... :-)

Awesome work, Mischa! Keeping up with JPL and team is tough, isn't it? Thanks for doing the hard work of updating this theme with the new Redmine changes. Fantastic job!

I cannot confirm this; http://www.redmine.org/attachments/1754/squeejee-0.1.0.zip seems to work fine... You can also use the mirror(s) noted in the wiki if needed...

Btw: I've also responded to your other issue here

Kind regards,

Mischa

I patched the theme a bit in order to:
- make it display the icons when Redmine is not a root app
- correct the name of a few images (ticket_*.png)

BTW, nice theme!

I've recently released version 0.2.0 of the Redmine Squeejee theme which adresses these issues too, see http://www.redmine.org/boards/3/topics/6343.

Mischa.

Hi,
is there any chance that someone post back the full 0.2 archive (with or without improvements given above) ?

Misha's developpement site is still not "up and running" and I can't access the Mediafire will due to security policies.

Thanks !

This theme seems to have gone stale, no updates since 2009/2010.

many of the URLs mentioned above for source of the code, don't work (at JUne 2014).

See the Squeejee Theme main page here:
