Information on setting Subprojects
Added by Pablo Chacin almost 13 years ago
Hi
I'm quite new to redmine. My main driver to use it has been the possibility to work with multiple project as well as sub-projects. In particular, my requirement is to handle software/hardware system development projects with multiple components (sub-projects) as well as customer projects on which those systems are deployed and customized.
I've seen that there are some patches, but the real state of them (some have 3 years) is not clear. Therefore, I've been unable to find a definitive answer on how to setup sub-projects to share some features of the parent, like:
- versions
- wiki
- issues
- repositories
Also, I would like to have cross project issues. For example, open a bug in a project that relates to a version of another project.
I will appreciate if you could point me to the right documentation
Regards
Pablo

As far as I know only versions can be shared among projects. See RedmineProjectSettings#Versions. Each project has its own modules for issues, wiki and repository which cannot be shared with other projects (although referencing [using links] is possible with current Redmine releases).
Also, I would like to have cross project issues. For example, open a bug in a project that relates to a version of another project.
See above...
