Are the files which are tagged to tickets or added to Forum entries stored in the Redmine database?

Hello,

Are the files that are attached to tickets or the files that are attached to Forum entries stored in the database itself or the files stored on the filesystem and path stored in the database?

Files are stored on the filesystem and metadata in the attachments table.
