Am I the only one who thinks some more thought needs to be put into the way plugins are done?

Its nearly impossible to get most plugins to install, and the incompatibility is ridiculous.

This plugin only works with 1.x, this one only works with 2.0.1, this one only works with 2.0.2 but not 2.0.3, this plugin works on 2.0.1-2.0.3 but ONLY with ruby 1.9.3, etc.. How can something be compatible with 2.0.1 but not 2.0.2? I mean how hard is it to not break things in minor-minor versions?

Nearly every time I try to install any plugin, even ones that are supposed to be compatible it borks my redmine install.

Granted I am running Redmine 2.0.4, with Ruby 1.8.7 and Rails 3.2.6, but that is the only way I could get it to work in RHEL6 easily. I have tried 2.0.1, and 2.0.3 and not had much luck with either of those either.

I think maybe something needs to be reconsidered in the whole plugin methodology.

Just sayin...
