Reply/Post to Email Feature & Windows Compatibility

I work in an MNC & we were looking to adopt redmine for our PM. We have windows 2008 R2 servers & we definitely need reply-by-email functionality for our forums.
Real time updation is must. so we wanted to go with option 1 in http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineReceivingEmails . Can hMailServer be configured in such a way. Can it be done without using cron to read emails.
