configuration.yml missing

Added by Jonathan Mulzer about 11 years ago

I recently setup a Redmine server and when I go to configure email, it says that those settings are to be made in "/etc/redmine/<instance>/configuration.yml", but when I navigate to /etc/redmine/default, there is no configuration.yml file. I attempted to create the file while including the relevant SMTP information but I am undoubtedly missing some important parts of the file. Why was it not created upon installation? Can someone please advise? If there is any further information that I can provide, just let me know and I will get it to you as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help.

This file is not automatically created. There is a configuration.yml.example in config folder. You have to copy/rename it to configuration.yml and edit it.

BTW what is this <instance> folder, and 'default' folder? My configuration does not have such folders.

<instance> is just how the error code reads to show you presumably that you need to be in the folder for this instance. Default is the default instance name.

I will check the config folder and copy it over. Thank you for your help. I will let you know if it works.

Where is the config folder at? I have checked in /etc/redmine and all I am showing is the default instance folder?

/.../redmine_root_folder/config

Found it, I just had to look for a moment. For anyone else who might find this thread, it is /usr/share/redmine.

Please note: This is not always the case, it highly depends on distro, package or installation.
