Multi client - howto

What would be the best way to implement a multi client redmine with multiple projects per client but no visibility between clients?

I'd say one master-project per client and the 'real' projects as subprojects

That's way too simple, I was thinking multiple redmine instances or adding a client id to users and projects, etc.
What a great idea! I'll give it a shot on the development server and see how it works.
