Custom field Default value per Project

Hi All,

I have a Custom field called "LOB" (Format: List). It is a required field.

Each project will have its own value. Is there a way, I can set default value for this field per Projects? which will minimize the chance of people choosing wrong values & improve the accuracy of the reports..
Anyone came across this?

I'm still stuck here.
My idea is to set a default value per custom field that depends on Project's Custom Field (which has the same name/values).
I would also like to know the user's first group match so I can set another custom field's default.

I would like to see this feature. We're using a custom field mostly to record which user a certain issue is for. It would be great if the value could be set on a per-project basis and then be inherited on every item that the field is assigned to, maybe as a default value. Having enumerations for this would be even greater, to ensure that no illegal values can be entered into the field.
