Sharing an issue among multiple projects

We are trying to use Redmine for managing electronic instrument projects as well as software. Often a single issue affects multiple projects. For example a part replacement that affects several instruments.

Is there a way of sharing issues among projects other than creating multiple issues and linking them? If not, is there another recommended approach for this?
