Provide an Issue 'Closed Date' in the DB for query purposes

Added by Jay Graves about 13 years ago

Hello,

I'm pretty new to Redmine and ROR. We replaced our home grown project tracking system with Redmine about a month ago and things are going great. Thanks to all who have worked on this great system.

My boss is using a separate query tool to get metrics on closed issues (How many closed issues in a given period, how many issues were late, etc) and is finding it hard/impossible because there is no 'Closed Date' that can be queried against.

I did find 2 issues that seem to be related but there doesn't seem to be any traction.

http://www.redmine.org/issues/2225
http://www.redmine.org/issues/3197

Is this feature that is fundamentally not wanted or just no one has cared to tackle it yet?

Like I mentioned, I'm inexperienced in ROR but will take a crack at writing this if it will be accepted as a patch.

Thanks again.

You could create a New Custom Field (as administrator) call it Closed Date make it
  • Searchable
  • Used as Filter
  • For all Projects.

Sure but then you would have to populate it by hand which is error prone.
