Groups behavior (branch work in progress)

Added by M T over 16 years ago

JPL:

I synced up to the working branch where the new group functions are being developed. (As at r1388)

You could well know about this already, but the logic that is testing what projects a user has access to by virtue of their group membership seems not to work correctly yet. In my case it is granting access to some projects that are not mentioned in the group or individual access lists.

Also, on the project home page, is there any need to list the members individually in brackets after their group name? It only seems to be displaying the first five or so anyway, which is confusing if you are a member but your name does not appear there. I'd be happy just to see the group name.

I didn't want to raise an actual bug on it since it's not in the mainline yet...

Cheers...

Could you give some details please. What are the steps to reproduce ?

Well, I have a user who is a member of a group, and that group is a member of a project. There are other (non-public) projects that the user is not a member of. Oddly, it is only a couple of projects (out of a large number) that the user can access that he shouldn't see.

I have used this as an excuse to try and get ruby debugging working in eclipse, which I am having some success with at last, so I may be able to tell you the reason soon.

Cheers...

Arggh! Never mind, the projects were accidentally flagged public.

I like this new functionality very much. Much simpler to manager the user to project relationships.

When do you think you'll roll it back into mainline?

OK, thanks :-)

It will be merged into the trunk before the 0.8 release.

Any idea when this functionality will be merged into mainline?

Bump!

JPL - When do you think you might roll that work into trunk?
