Adding new news item not sending email to users

Hi all,

I have set up redmine-0.8.5 using mqsql database and think it is an excellent application.

I am having one issue, i want redmine to be able to send email notifications to all users when new news items are added.

When i have users accounts setup so they have notification setup 'for any event on all projects' i can receive the news no problem

BUT i also in this setting receive mail from any changes as its setting suggests, which is not what i want.

What i want is for the setting to be 'Only things i watch or am involved in' and still receive news as it is added, is this possible when the account settings are Only things i watch or am involved in.

Just when in the other setting you basically get spammed pretty bad if the project team is large as in my situation.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated,

I second this. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make project members notified of news via email. Setting the for any event on all projects preference is not feasible.
