Time tracking in days instead of hours and calculate "% done" field automatically
Added by Thomas R almost 15 years ago
Hi,
I'm currently testing Redmine. Redmine looks good but there are 2 things that make me hesitate...
1) I want to monitor my spent time in days instead of hours. Is it possible ? I want to change the unit of "Spent time" and "Estimated time" to work with a day unit.
2) To evaluate "% done", I think it's easier to evaluate the left time than the "% done". I want to use a field "Time left" to put the estimated time left and that the fied "% done" is calculated automatically.
Example : I create a new issue with an estimated time = 5 days. I work on this issue half of a day and I think it remains me 3 days to complete it. I update my issue. I want to put 0.5 days in the field "Spent time" and 3 days in a new field "Left time". The "% done" field will be calculated automatically with this formula : "% done" = "Spent time" / ("Spent time" + "Left time").
Is there already a plugin to achieve this ? If not, is it possible and how ?
Thanks for your help !

This is a very nice idea!
I'd like to have this option too!

+1 need have different unit of "Time" (e.g. hours, days, weeks, months)
what about to append unit to value like 1h, 5w, 1m etc.

+1 We estimate in days as well so this would be very useful.

See feature issue #6833 if a more flexible time tracking is what you need.

To be precise, one tool I can think about is Replicon.
