looking for a developer to setup redmine and git for us. outsource to someone working at home.

Added by ged wed over 16 years ago

Hey,

we need a developer to handle the complete set-up and management of linux, git & redmine.
they can be anywhere in the world, but need to speak English well.
This is an immediate requirement !!
this would be an ongoing relationship, and we would call on you to do upgrades and help with any ongoing project set-up issues.

requirements:
1. source linux shared host suitable to our needs.
1.1 setup remote access to server for us.
2. set-up git repos. we need 2 public & private.
3. set-up ssh access to git.

4. set-up redmine and configure it.
4.1 we need 3 projects set-up initially.
5. disaster recovery management. Basically backups of the disk and db.
- in this case a true virtual linux server can be easier because the disks are on the SAN anyway.

GiTHub and Lighthouse is probably your best solution. I just went through the conversion process of moving all our projects and project management software from SVN/TRAC to GiT/Redmine in house and the effort is not trivial, although truthfully it is more tedious than difficult.

However, if you are looking for redundancy, recovery and ongoing maintenance and support then fee for service providers like github and lighthouse are my recommendation.

I just sent you an email about it but I thought I would leave a comment here as well. I recently setup a spare computer here with this same configuration as our dev server and it's been great so far. It didn't take very long to setup at all and now it's working like a champ.
