Is there a way to providea local wiki link to a file attachment?

Added by James Byrne over 16 years ago

I would like to provide wiki links to file attachments. Currently I do this by using this method:

Title of Document###

Is there a Wiki format to just point to a local "attachments/download/###"? Our redmine site is replicated on a backup server and the absolute server addresses pose problems in the event of a temporary outage on the main host.

I have looked at the attachment:<filename> option, but this does not provide any instructions on how to set a specific title for the link. Further, we link across pages and this option does not give any indication on how to provide the wiki page as a reference. It may be possible but I cannot puzzle out how to accomplish this from the documentation.

What we want to do is for an attachment called "my_attached_file.ext" found on wiki page "FormsIndex" to provide a link from any other wiki page "ForExample" with the tile "The Form You Want is Here". Ideally something along the lines of this would work (but it does not):

[[FormsIndex:attachment:my_attached_file.ext|The Form You Want is Here]]

Any help would be much appreciated.

Automatic formatting is NOT useful on a message board.

What we would like is something functionally equivalent to the following:

[[FormsIndex:attachment:my_attached_file.ext|The Form You Want is Here]] which will show:

The Form You Want is Here as a link.

Apparently, I cannot show wiki formatting commands even when surrounded by pre tags.
