What's the purpose of the checkboxes in issue lists?

In issue lists, there are checkboxes that allow you to select multiple bugs. However there doesn't seem to be any links or popups for performing actions on the selected bugs. Is this something that's just not implemented yet?

After selecting some issues, right click your mouse and you should get a context menu. It's different depending on if you have one or multiple issues selected.
